About the Role
We are looking for a technically skilled and experienced Broadcast/IT Engineer to oversee all broadcast and IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless transmission, reliable operations, and cyber-security compliance.
The successful candidate will ensure optimal performance of studio and transmission systems while supporting newsroom technology under the regulatory standards of the National Broadcasting Commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee studio setup, on-air transmission, and digital streaming systems
- Manage broadcast and IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and software
- Ensure timely maintenance, calibration, and backup of technical equipment
- Develop and implement IT and broadcast security protocols
- Support live broadcasts, outside broadcasts, and technical troubleshooting
- Plan and manage equipment procurement and inventory
- Coordinate technical teams and provide training to staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Required Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in broadcast engineering and IT systems
- Strong knowledge of radio transmission, audio routing, and signal distribution
- Proficiency in networking, servers, and cyber-security
- Experience with digital streaming platforms
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lead and coordinate technical teams
- Knowledge of Nigerian broadcast regulations
Professional & Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Broadcast Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Professional certification in broadcast engineering or IT (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in broadcast engineering and IT
- At least three (3) years in a supervisory or lead technical role
- Experience in converged or digital-first broadcast environments is highly desirable
